Ave in New York City which, as its title indicates, specializes in collectable Russian pieces.  The compact is definitely Russian, ca. 1960.  Never used.  Solid piece of wood with hinged lid, 3 3/8” (8.6 cm) by 2 13/16” (7.2 cm) by ½” (1.2 cm).  Lid is 3/32” (1/4 cm) thick.
