Vintage 1930's Sterling Silver Powder Ladle - Compact Accessory Sealed Inside Original Box - RARE
Condition:  New, never used, sealed in original cellophane.  Ladle has tiny tarnished spots inside the cellophane, and the bottom of the box has a damaged area about 1/2 inch.
This very unusual Sterling Silver powder ladle is in its original cellophane wrapper and original velvet lined cardboard box.
It
would have been used to refill
a compact with loose cosmetic face powder.
The ladle is marked on the back “STERLING” and “Pat. Des. 100,770” which was issued in 1936.
Ladle size:
Approximately 1-5/8 inches long x 5/8 inch wide.
The cardboard box has a blue lid and a cream bottom, which has a basket-weave imprint on the surface and the original price sticker from "The J.L. Hudson Co" is still attached.
It is approximately 2-1/3 inches by 1-1/4 inch.
A white satin ribbon holds the ladle onto a blue velvet pad inside the box.
A paper insert in the box reads: “Sterling Silver Powder Ladle To fill your compact without waste. Patent Des. No. 100,770.”
Ladle could also be used as a salt spoon.
