    VINTAGE HAND PAINTED ABALONE SHELL AND SILVERPLATE COMPACT
    For your consideration is this wonderful, vintage silverplate compact with hand painted abalone shell top.  Design is of a bird and flowers and is done in shades of red, green and blue.  This is an estate sale find with the original sticker on back from the Antique Market it was purchased from.  No attempt has been made to clean, polish, or otherwise alter the "as found" condition.  This piece measures approximately 2.5" in diameter x 1" high.  Inside the lid is a rather crude mirror.... probably very advanced for it's time!  Nice collectible!
