Hantel Pewter Miniature Crocodile (Punch & Judy Series) VM 56

Description

The crocodile, one of the cast of the Punch an Judy figurines is hand painted pewter and measures 1.5". Punch and Judy are puppets that were usually used to entertain children.
Most of these models were
characters from 19th century literature. In 1980 Hantel produced the first hand painted articulated figures in pewter.  In the same year the company moved to
Scotland and continued to produce finely detailed, hand painted, jointed pewter miniatures.
Originally established in Warwick England in 1973
by  Frances Wilson.
In June 1999 Hantel  was taken over by Mr Patrick Mansfield of Tower Enterprises Ltd, who for the last
twelve years had been their agent in Japan. The Hantel name was retired in 2007.
The owners of Hantel / Alba Sales are retiring and once the existing stocks are sold there will be no more manufactured.
