Art Deco New York University Commemorative Purple Enamel Vee Vanity Compact

Up for sale an Art Deco Vee Vanity New York University commemorative purple enamel compact.  Purple and white are the university's colors.  A small center medallion surrounded by 4 concentric gold enamel lines states:  "New York University and then in Latin the school motto:  "Perstare et Praestare"...To persevere and to excel on the outer edge.  In the center in Roman numerals is the date NYU was founded 1831 and above what looks like students at desks. The interior of the compact reveals 2 comparts one for rouge and one for powder.  The rouge compartment is set into the lid of the powder compact.  Marked on the rouge compartment lid "Vee Vanity Made in USA".  The compact measures 2.5" in diameter.  An unusual and special compact.  Good vintage condition with normal signs of age, wear and use with slight wear to the purple enamel.
