South Vietnam Air Battalion - Paratroopers
- 3rd, 5th and 6th Airborne Battalion
Whilst under French command this battalion was destroyed by the Viet Minh
at Dien Bien Phu in May 1954. The battalion was raised again in the late 1950's under the instruction of US Army Operatives employed by the CIA. The remnants of these paratrooper battalions evacuated from Da Nang to Saigon in the last days of the Vietnam War with many making their way further South to the Mekong Delta and evacuation onto US Navy Ships.
